Todayโs tool
The performance run-through
Assignment: Do a complete dress rehearsal of your piece or program, including performance clothes, formal entrance, full piece, bow, and exit.
Today is your full dress rehearsalโmeaning EVERYTHING must be as close to the real performance as possible. Wear your performance clothes (including shoes!). Set up the room like a performance venue. Invite at least one person to be your audienceโyou could even do a video call. Follow your complete Day 27 pre-performance ritual. Play your entire program without stopping, no matter what happens. Donโt forget to record it! Your run-through may reveal things youโd never discover in a regular practice session: like your performance clothes restrict your movement, or that different lighting creates glare on your music. Address every discovered issue before your real performance.
