I don’t know the harp part for this piece but if it helps – here is a link to a copy of the full score:

Fearghal McCartanParticipantre the Apollo – I’ve yet to find a harp with a greater room-filling sound and dynaminc range. I’m just lucky that my Arianna matches that quality. If I hadn’t seen & tried it I would have bought the Apollo straight away.

Fearghal McCartanParticipantI currently live in a 2nd story flat
Fearghal McCartanParticipantI agree with you re having a willing conductor there. Saying that, I get called in to play with the university concert band and am often handed a score, asked to listen at the first few rehearsals and then told to ‘add what feels suitable’. The conductor will then check through it, listen & make a few
Fearghal McCartanParticipantHi,
Which Irish Rhapsody & Irish Suite is it? With the Wild Geese is
Fearghal McCartanParticipantHi, I know this is a bit late on the post and you may have already found your answer but I play a Cafferky 34 string (made in 1999) and use Savarez ‘Alliance KF’ composite strings on it. The bass strings are wire-wound composite.
Fearghal McCartanParticipantHi Sherry,
Yes, I am familiar with the piece – but as the revised version, not the original. I have been listening online to the original version so as to find the differences etc. I love Walton’s works – esp this and Belshazar’s Feast.
I have managed to get a part from someone on here now so all is saved 😀
Now to learn it… …

Fearghal McCartanParticipantHi Clinton,
It’s the: Crown Imperial (Coronation March)[ Full version/ full orch] 1937.
3[1.2.3/pic] 3[1.2.Eh] 3[1.2.bcl] 3[1.2.cbn] — 4Fearghal McCartanParticipantand that we should not be asked to play piano
Fearghal McCartanParticipantI was about to panic and ask “what are you talking about – putting the column behind the driver’s seat?” – then I remembered – I’m in the UK and you are in the US!
Oooops to me.
One thing I use with my harp when in the car is a foam wedge/triangle – this stops weight being pressed down
Fearghal McCartanParticipantVery true, Hope all is going well for her and the harp. I myself have been lurking in the background a wee bit.
Also, ’twas a shame to see another sparring match start up above in this thread.
Toodles,
Fearghal
Fearghal McCartanParticipantWhen playing this I found the easiest way to play the section was to split all the notes in these bars into groups of 3 – the first 3 notes LH, next 3 RH, next 3 LH etc as each bar = 2 sets of 9 notes. Hope that makes sense. This way all notes could be played without a loss of rhythm or tempo.
Best of luck with the audition.
Fearghal
Fearghal McCartanParticipantThankee most kindly
