    I only ask $50 for the deposit, and I usually receive the rest on the day of the wedding, but it often works to my advantage.

    I agree, I have toured the Dusty Strings workshop and was very impressed with the care and process they put into each harp.

    I think I saw a Timothy Aedh lap harp (24 strings) used with full levers on the Virginia Harp Center website not too long ago.

    Back to string tension, if you really like the sound of the pedal harp, that might be related to string tension, which is often higher in pedal harps than some levers harp.

    Don’t get too caught up on having 38 strings versus 36 strings. Make sure the string tension is what you want and that the sound is what you want.

    For technique, simple tunes, and some great pictures and diagrams, and especially if you do not know how to read music well yet, “Play the Harp Beautifully” by Pamela Bruner is a nice starting point.

    I find that businesses especially are using the internet to find performers, and so are brides and other event planners.
