If you do not have access to a teacher, there are at least videos that you can watch in addition to using teach yourself books.

The cheapest out there are the harpsicle series and the Dusty Strings Ravenna 26.

For more complex music that is pushing the edge for lever harp, I like Laura Zaerr’s “The Living Tradition” and “Wondrous Rivers and Viewpoints” (the latter assumes full levers tuned in Eb I believe).

P.S. A floor harp is definitely easier to learn on at first than a lap harp.

Some websites to try for used harps (for your own happiness, please avoid the Pakistani/carved rosewood harps on e-bay; they have very poor tone, awful levers.
