MemberAziliz, i do start with a little talk about the history of Harp, then play a very attractive and beautiful music to the student and maybe you can show him or her how to sit correctly behind the harp and that is enough for the first lesson , the second lesson you will start with repeating body position hand position and start with the 2nd finger the right hand the put the first finger and let them play a short scale 2 and 1st fingers. Good luck for you.

MemberHi Indra, the harp.com is a very trustful site as they had a good reputation with dealing with harpists, and me too bought many music from them but they have a special safe page for buying online , but the site i am talking about has not this page, they offer a form to fill it and send it by email or fax or tell them the whole card details on phone. that is my question.

Memberthank yoy Saul for your answer but the dissertation should be creative and should to say something new inside of it and Natalia Pakrovskaya wrorte in her book about the history of harp and harpists of Russian in different periods so i cant touch this part, and if i will know how many pieces Prokofiev wrote so what is tge creation in that? about Boris Tichenko concerto its a good idea thank you.i will discuss that with my teacher Irina Tichenko as she is the wife of Tichenko and the concerto was wrote especially for her.

MemberRosalind , i adore this concerto so much, but tell me what is the problem in Erdeli edition with you? let me tell you that Glier when he composed this concerto he used to make Erdeli to listen to every note he is writing in that concerto and asking her advices for making the composition playable, so for me Erdeli edition should be the closest one to what Glier wanted .

Memberyes Steven Prelude Prokofiev is one of them but its not the same as Cardon sonate f minor, for me Mozart concerto easier than Cardon, and the middle part of La Source Zabel L’istesso tempo where we play in the highest register C.B.A.G.F.E etc…. uffffff, needs hours and hours of practicing every day.

MemberCarl dear,I am preparing students to go in the High institute of Music, and the image is different from what you imagine, they come very late in age to study and to get in to be professionals, most of them don’t know solfege and rarely to find a piano student that want to be a harpist, they should be prepared for the exam in one year, I do work very hard to teach the basic things : hand and body positions, essential technique and to play tow pieces that they can’t read it easily of course not that difficult pieces, how can I get or keep a students that I work hard an waste my energy for them and then some of them decide to give up and other decide to move to another teacher dealing with teachers as an old shoes change it to another new , they can’t play pop music for exam or folk only Classical.
