Susan, you are a very nice person. It is the work of a few good people that changes the world, and creates new excitement and dreams. Many harpists have been very selfish and mean spirited, in other words, not caring about the harp, music or beauty but their own selfish moronic agendas. This has harmed the prestige of the harp, not to mention the pettiness of the manufacturers in their slovenly pursuits. (Not the workers, however who are often wonderful) The frauds will soon be exposed and shamed. The pure of heart shall carry on in the pursuit of beauty and the purity of our harps. Kent Vogel A. S. Might it be said that the harp manufacturors hurt themselves and their workforce families by not allowing very good, decent performers, with careful, conscientious, bill paying histories, to buy their instruments, on

May I offer this idea going forward. How about everyone start having confidence in their performances. Confidence comes from being able to rely on your method. Your method comes from practise. Know what you are going to play, have control of it, and execute it. Then have fun with it! Don’t play just the notes, plays the sounds! And play ecstatically! This comes from over fifty years of musical study. I hope to live to 140 years, when I’ll be killed by a jealous husband. lol With every good wish!

It’s important to have a soft throne to sit on. There most certainly not be anything that cuts off blood flow on the lower leg. 45 minutes should be the maximum of time on the harp bench or throne. This is my most humble contribution after fifty years of this sort of thing. Make sure you don’t have gout or are too physicaly exhausted, where you may have reduced sodium levels. Best Wishes!
