the gut string did break..and you have a substitute c nylon (also 2nd oktave)
In this case you cant make very much wrong. The nylon string sounding different than gut but after a day it becomes more clear.
If you dont have used a 2nd octave c nylon…but a other one with different diameters…than there might be a problem.

today I found old records from many years back and there is written that the spezific weight from Pirastro strings where a little higher than the nylon of the other nylon strings from other brands. They had so many years before allready a nylon material which was a little bit in to the direction of the way the carbon strings go.
Imagine this….

But honestly said, who says they still could manufacture this strings at all.
No one of the big seller are manufacture of Nylon strings. They buy a big, avery big quantity.

Just some thoughts for the >swell door<
I have seen some of the harps with removed >doors< but than it is visible
by the groove and slot for the pedal at the harp base.

The swell doors have a effect for loudness…but not that much one would expect.
Other thoughts are going to deep in to mystical speculation.
The harp body of this harps have only the sound holes at the back, when you close them with the swell doors you just set the vibration inside the harp in to

I think we get lost of the knowledge of strings ….it was more easy some years back. Just Nylon…thats it. Today
