    Hi Chad,

You can get the Salzedo: Variations on a theme in the Ancient Style Here! as well as Jeux Deux and Ballade. But I don’t think Grandjany is on IMSLP

    I hope this helped!
    All the best!

I started playing the harp when i was four. 10 years later i remember very little of my first lessons, but i remember just learning simple songs and melodies on a tiny little lap harp.

    Hi

i have had the worst day ever. I was playing for an easter ceremony thing for my school and at first i remembered everything except my tuning key. It was a cold day so the harp was dreadfully out of tune. A new string was rather bad so I went with the worst idea in the history of harp tuning: I went to the technician and got a pair of pliers and tried to tune the sting using them. When i finally made the peg move I stupidly made it go the other way so the string sounded awful. So after about half an hour of trying to get the peg to move the right way I got the choir teacher to move it the right way luckily she had no idea what any of this meant so I got away with it. I nearly died. But even if your harp is out of tune people love it anyway.

    Will.

Oh yeah. Xavier de Maistre is really, really good. He has a video on youtube and he plays a Grandjany piece just amazingly.

Debussy’s Reverie. Anything by Carlos Salzedo, Marcel Grandjany’s Rhapsody, that is very impressive, I don’t know if it is the romantic period though. Good Luck with your audition.

There is a harp concerto by Parish Alvars in E flat major. It is extremely hard but its amazing, it is the living being of perfection. I have absolutely no idea were you get the music from though.

    Good Luck.

    Hi

The Swan, by Camille Saint Saens is very, very beautiful. It was originally written for piano and violin I think but its often played with harp and violin.

    Good Luck.

Hi. Im in my school orchestra too. You should look around a bit and see if you can find bernard sekels serenade for strings. The Harp part is very easy and it has a few instruments in it. Debussy’s Dances for harp and strings are Ridiculously hard, at one point my teacher gave ravels introduction and Allegro. Also its worth looking out for Malcolm Arnold’s 4 Scottish Dances. Im pretty sure it has some harp in it. And also Look for Debussy “dance’ which was originally written for piano but made for orchestra. It uses the harp distinctly and it just sounds awesome.

Yes. I can only play the first bit of it. The Bits after that are extremely hard. Thank-you for your encouragement. They are really nice words. Thanks
