Hi Guys!
Just updating this. I was working on that song I posted in here, a long time ago. Well I’ve pretty much finished the harp part for it, finally. It normally takes me awhile to write, think over, rewrite and arrange music lol. I still have other instruments to add and of course track all of it and edit it. These are just update videos. Anyway I have a newer video if anyone is interested in watching it.Also, I’ve started another song (currently called song2), I’ll try to embed that one here as well (and if that doesn’t work, I’ll post the links). I’m not quite sure where I’m going with this second song but its a start to something potentially exciting!

Just wanted to note, sorry for the weird audio quality, my mic is acting up right now. Also, I messed up a couple of times in the last one so if you notice it, thats why lol. Enjoy!

Yeah, you’re right. I’m not even sure why I didn’t think of that to begin with lol. But yeah, the first times I was playing it, the lever was disengaged then I flipped it and thats when I showed it sounded a bit weird. You probably cant tell but there isn’t that much buzz. Its just the ever slightest vibration that makes it sound goofy. But I tried looking and couldn’t really see where it was buzzing or anything.
I can’t really take it to the shop cause I’m renting it from a private owner and I’m not supposed to do anything with it w/ out talking to him first and also, I don’t really want to do anything thats going to be costly. I may just wait till my rentals done since I’ll be renting a different after then.

perhaps a video isn’t the best way to go cause I’m sure maybe it would make more sense if you could hear it in person..I just can’t see that its buzzing anywhere so maybe its just the string should be replaced
Soo, did she just relaunch it? Or take the money??? That link that she posted in Oct saying that she was relaunching, directed me to some login/signup so I’m not really sure what came of this. I can tell you that I’ve seen her tumblr and she hasn’t been promoting her campaign for awhile now so I’m wondering where that money actually went lol
Just curious, was there actually a benefit to having that swell pedal and the shutters? Did they actually ever play with it closed or was that more just for storing the harp when not playing it? I would imagine it sounding kind of goofy without the shutters opened..
This is awesome hahah, what kind of sound does it make compared to regular gut and wire harp strings?
Hi everyone, I have one more thing I found! I have a music book that I got when I rented my Ogden from L&H, its Fun from the First with the Lyon and Healy Lever Harp Vol. 1, by Samuel Milligan. This is a pretty useful beginner book. My harp teacher recommended it to me and I bought it on Amazon before I realized that L&H provided it with my Ogden rental paperwork! Its brand new and I’ll just mail it out if anyone wants it!
Off topic but Leon, you should just start a thread w/ a masterpost of how your rooms are decorated cause I just LOVE looking at the pictures you post..not only for the harp in them but to see the room itself 😀
I thought of something else I’d like to know as well. Do the colors you see correspond w/ sheet music that you read? Or I guess as you learn the notes in sheet music, does that translate in color once you know what notes you’re playing? Or is it specifically just letters as you see them (their shape and lines etc…) and not so much mentally knowing what letters they are or what is represented?

I’m not sure I could really be much help but I just wanted to comment on your post. I think thats such an interesting condition. I never knew about it until 10 minutes ago when I read this and then researched the condition more.
You should definitely consider switching your Fs to the blue strings. I’m not sure what companies make those as I normally just buy the same Bow brand strings which are the red/black ones.
As for finding black Cs…I know you probably wouldn’t be able to contact any well known harp string company and get them to make the black Cs but perhaps there are some smaller, lesser known companies that could maybe work with you? Other people on here would better know than me but I would try contacting some places directly and you’d probably have a better chance with a smaller business.
One other thing I was curious about, what do the white/clear strings do for you? Do they not bother you? Or is it something you can overlook because they’re the non colored strings, rather than the Cs and Fs intentionally being colored?
