    Hello Everyone!

Some of you may have seen me floating around the forums in the last few months. I wanted to take the time to introduce myself and share something with you. My name is Tracey Kjonegaard, I’m currently living outside of Chicago, IL and I recently took up harp this year. I started in April and fell in love with this instrument the first day I got my rental Ogden from the L&H factory downtown! I started lessons kind of late (I think around June-ish) and honestly I only had about 5 or 6 lessons before I ran into some financial issues that has forced me to put my lessons on hold for about another month or so.

ANYWAY, In that mean time, I’ve been writing my own music. That is what I like to do. I’ve played guitar since 7th grade (I’m currently 22) and piano since high school. Harp was a brand new adventure for me but like I had said, I fell in love with it from the moment I laid my hands on it down at the showroom. I’ll skip to the good stuff…I’ve finally finished my first song. I’m a little hesitant about posting it but I’m just hoping I’ll get good feedback or just that you guys might want to have a listen for the heck of it. I haven’t thought up a title yet but I would LOVE to hear what it reminds you guys of (if you take the time to listen) and maybe it could spark some inspiration for the lyrics and title of this song. Also keep in mind, this is ONLY the harp track and its not really a track yet, just a youtube video. I do stumble a bit as I’ve just finished writing it and need to practice a lot more before I can record the final track of it.

One last thing…as I’ve said, I have only had a handful of lessons and hope to resume in the next month or so. I’m very amateur and still feel new to this instrument so…I know my technique isn’t the best etc…I welcome constructive criticism but I totally use the videos I make to be aware of things like my technique and how I should be correcting it 😀

Thanks for reading and I hope you can enjoy!

Great job, Tracey! You are playing really well for only 5-6 lessons! Really well! Looking forward to hearing more from you.

That was great! Wow! Are you sure you haven’t been playing for much longer than a few months? 😉 I really liked that, thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much for the positive feedback guys! I was scared to post cause I am new to the harp world and this is only my first song but thanks so much for taking the time to watch and respond with lovely comments 🙂 And yes, I have only played a few months! Thank you though 🙂 Hopefully I’ll be able to resume lessons in about a month so I can continue to learn more and write more music!

I’ll be sure to post the final final song once its done, since you guys seemed to like it 🙂

Thanks again for the positive comments!!

Listening to it right now….it’s really nice, like music from a film, maybe? It’s slightly playful and intense at the same time–cool–maybe you could play those two things against each other even more? I do like it….

Thank you so much for the feedback! There actually is more that I want to do with this, I just don’t have the experience/skill yet, sadly Lol. I can’t even play polyrhythyms well, hence why I play single notes w/ my left hand through the whole song Lol. I’m super proud of this but I definitely plan on visiting it again when I have more experience and can play better 🙂

It sucks but makes me all the more eager to learn!

I played guitar first too. Then harp and then banjo. It’s a natural progression. And I didn’t play that well after five mos.!

    Hi Guys!
Just updating this. I was working on that song I posted in here, a long time ago. Well I’ve pretty much finished the harp part for it, finally. It normally takes me awhile to write, think over, rewrite and arrange music lol. I still have other instruments to add and of course track all of it and edit it. These are just update videos. Anyway I have a newer video if anyone is interested in watching it.

Also, I’ve started another song (currently called song2), I’ll try to embed that one here as well (and if that doesn’t work, I’ll post the links). I’m not quite sure where I’m going with this second song but its a start to something potentially exciting!

Just wanted to note, sorry for the weird audio quality, my mic is acting up right now. Also, I messed up a couple of times in the last one so if you notice it, thats why lol. Enjoy!

It sounds so good, reminds me of video game themes, maybe while you’re searching around for a key. Nobody else has mentioned a title at all, which surprises me.

I see it very clearly, Rapunzel waiting in her tower. A name like, “Let down your hair.” Or, “Tower time.” Hahaha okay that one made me laugh, my sister is better at names than me. I hope that helps!

I am listening to the updated version right now. I want to play a Rapunzel video game now. *pouting*
