ParticipantBarbara and Lisa….thank you for this info. I will get the Angi Bemis book!! I have Angi’s Book #2, and I love her arrangements! Two I like pieces so well in her 2nd book are: Legands of the Fall and Homeward Bound.
Onward!

ParticipantI use a long, narrow rug (I think it’s intended for hall ways–it’s about 5-6 ft long). I use it to protect the hardwood floors. The rug is long enough that it accommodates both the harp and my bench. Rod C.

ParticipantHi Kathy:
Interesting. I don’t think I’ve seen that question posted before: was/is your mother a harpist.

ParticipantSerj:
I did a Google Image search for “cake + harp.”

ParticipantHi Kay:
Thanks for the reminder!! I am like you–how many times do I need to hear this before it sinks in?
I like Carl’s approach, too.
Also, I did log on to the new forum site. I read a post by a woman who said that to keep herself motiviated she is memorizing one piece per month. I like that idea, too, for when

Steve Moss just relocated to West Lafayette, Indiana. I don’t know if this is close to you.

Can you believe how time flies? It seems like last week you were getting your pedal harp!
I’ve had my pedal harp for five years already.

ParticipantKay: Just after I responded to your first post, I read that you had already had the surgery. I’m glad to hear all has gone well, and I wish you a speedy recovery!!
Cheers,

ParticipantHi Kay:
Sorry to hear you need surgery. You might check with David Ice; I know he posted on here about having back surgery about three years ago. Of course, he may have had something totally different than what you have–I don’t know.
Good luck to you.

ParticipantThanks to AC, I’ve not had any strings break. But my area has 7 days ahead of nearly 100 degrees (Nebraska).

I had to look up Green Fields of France. I found several videos on Youtube…but no harp rendition. Here’s a guitar solo:

Can anyone recommend a harp arrangement of this piece?

ParticipantHi Tim:
Your question is still a good one. I think a number of questions/comments get repeated on this message board over time. But, a lot of new readers come along…so the thread will be new to them.
It was nice of Sylvia to post the link to the previous posts on this topic. If you’re like me…..you’ll

ParticipantHI Kay:
I’m glad you posted this question…what a wonderful group of responses from some very knowledgeable and talented harpists. The collective widsom on this message board is terrific.

What a fascinating question. (I don’t think I’ve seen this question posted here before.) By the way…David Ice’s answer gave me goose bumps. Nice work, David.
I think the nicest compliments I have received have been when people have cried. Music has to be moving and powerful to bring people to tears. It makes me even more aware of what beautiful music we can make with this instrument that we harpists love so much.
Cheers,
Rod C.
