Hi all: Yes, we did interview Joanna Newsom a while back. Issues before Sept/Oct 12 are not currently online, but I will see if it’s possible to get that interview up for you sometime soon.
Charles: sorry to hear you’re having problems. Once the magazine is at the post office it’s pretty much out of our hands. We’ve considered having them wrapped in something before shipping, but that would increase our costs to you. We decided it was better to just replace bad copies free of charge. Please call our office to request a replacement and we’ll be happy to send one. I have no explanation for why this is happening to *Harp Column* and not your other publications, but I promise we are not abusing them before they get to the post office!
Right now your practice journal is viewable by all your friends. It is on our to-do list to give you the ability to create groups for private viewing between whoever you designate (student and teacher for example). @[[hugh-brock:User:Hugh Brock]] can you weigh in?
If you need to share files with another person, I highly recommend Dropbox. We use it extensively here at HC to share files between editors. Honestly, we could not live without it! We have upgraded to the paid version because we use a LOT of space!
I do have a folder on Dropbox that I use for music downloads, which I then open on the ipad using forScore. I agree with Barbara that it doesn’t really buy you much because you still have to open each pdf in forScore. I haven’t figured out a way to have it sync automatically, but I haven’t tried very hard either.
I am one of those people who never syncs my ipad (:-) so the Dropbox method does work in lieu of emailing each individual file. We regularly move folders with lots of data so, I that shouldn’t be a problem.

Hi everyone: issues were mailed out several weeks ago, periodical post, which always takes longer than regular mail. This issue did go out a little later than usual for reasons I won’t go into (yes, we are are a small publication :-). If you ever have problems receiving an issue you can call our office at the number below and we are always happy to send a replacement. In the meantime, we’re really excited that subscribers can now view the magazine online or download a pdf version.
I would try some of Ernie and Becky Brock’s arrangements for flute and harp. The flute part could probably be played easily on violin. They are wonderful arrangements that would probably be right at your level.
I use the istrobosoft app and love it, but I also use the small Peterson strobe tuner as well. I prefer the strobe to a gauge tuner. Because of my personal no cell-phone on stage during a performance policy (see the [cellphone rant](http://www.harpcolumn.com/forums/performing/posts/62528) thread!), I am just not comfortable relying solely on the phone app, although it does just as good a job if you’re using the input equipment Barbara mentioned.
Carl, seriously? I think we can all agree that cellphone rudeness is an annoying and growing problem, but I don’t buy your gender specific accusation one tiny bit. I have seen and heard many a guilty male culprit. (Wasn’t Patron X that Gretchen referred to a man???)
My personal rule is to not take a cell phone onstage during a performance. I will confess to being guilty of playing Words With Friends sometimes during rehearsals if I’m taceting movements….
