Participant…when you find yourself
katerina
ParticipantThank you, Curls!
katerina
ParticipantOk, I shall post the detail report with pics. I’m waiting for She scince December (mr. Thurau has too much orders and a long wait-list in result
katerina
ParticipantCurly,
Thurau will probably not be in Amsterdam this year (he told so). He goes to Utrecht in the end of summer to the exhibition and I know nothind about his else locations. But I’m going to pick my De Viaggio from his workshop in Germany
katerina
ParticipantThat the strings are knotted as a spider web. And that is a concert – but I really don’t know how to play this new…amn… construction!
That was really a nightmare!
katerina
ParticipantI’t is muuuuuuuuuch nicer alife, and a kind of magic in use.
Unreal harp, I think.katerina
ParticipantCompairing with Thurau and LH, Horngachers have a little more fat body. The cut ellipse of soundboard is longer, so you need to sit on a higher stool, than with LH and Thurau. That is the only one minus of Horngacher I found during my practice as master and a little bit – player. Biologically they are the men harps – the longer shoulder, legs

ParticipantI played 3 different Horngachers, and I should say, that they are very brilliant instruments. Especially their models with damper pedal – very usefull thing and helps to make many nice string effects for Jazz and classic both.
For else – take a look to Thurau pedal harps (Germany too). The one “Javelot de Gabriel”
katerina
ParticipantHoooh! guys, nice collections! My one is less
L&H ‘Silhouette’ – wow, wonderful gig instrument
SelenaHarps ‘Shenna” – my made 36 strings precious. The harp is not yet in series, but soon will be. We shall put Camac levers.
Thurau ‘Arpa de Viaggio’ – triple, my honey. Fantastic voice! Small harp with a very big sound and enough range.
MidEast ‘Heather” – for outside gigs in forests and other nature where I shall never take my other
EricHarps ‘Memling’ – my lovely gothic harp.
Planning to buy Mark Norris ‘Professional’ or Eric’s folk harp. Deadly great harp, by the way.

Participantaha!
katerina
ParticipantThanks 8)
Yes, I dreamed 3 years about triple – and now it is getting ready. Soon there will be one happy Kate more in the world!
katerina
ParticipantWe cooperated with Santa, went to Germany (Weissbaden) and visited mr. Rainer Thurau. Well…

Santa is a cool person, aha 8).
BTW, I touched Thurau classic harp. A kind of magic. Gorgeous tone and silent mechanism. In some – better than Horngacher.
katerina
ParticipantMaybe he is Hamlet’s father ghost?…
Anyway he doesn’t deserve our attention, ladys and gentlemen. The trolls are alive while the trolls are being feeded.
katerina
ParticipantThanks

We trying our best.

ParticipantThat was actual to Lunacharsky harps and that was true. Most of them were badly made. I had to repair many old Lunacharsky harps.
But Selenas are rather better and I declare their probably lifetime up to 30-50 years. The mechanic and wood are improved greatly. As much the sound. I work there as an acoustic specialist – and, of course, I choose tonewood by quality – not by price, as it was before.
