Carl, she played an astonishing programme in London last month (including three of the impromptus), as well music by Mozart, Debussy, Chopin… Whatever reservations one might ever have had about playing piano repertoire on the harp could not seriously have held onto them having heard this programme. I have absolutely no compunction in saying that, as a musician and as a harpist, I believe she has absolutely no limits.
If you can get hold of Natalya Shameyaeva’s book, “the development of harp music in Russia in the 20th Century”, there is some quite useful info about the Khatchaturian and Dulova’s involvment.
Some more “up-and-coming” Russian players include Nina Kupriyanova, Elizabeth Mernaya, Maria Goudimov, Maria Kruschevskaya etc.

Hi Katarzyna- your project sounds most interesting and ambitious. The American harpist Laura Newell (1900-1980– ?) was a student of both Attl and Holy I believe. I think she wrote an article in the American Harp Journal called ‘an aestheic pertinent to sound’ where she laid some of the method down. I have not seen the article, but if you contact the American harp society, they may be able to dig out for you or sell you a back-issue or something. Someone here may even have it. Good Luck!!!
