    Finally a product that works!

I have been searching for 3 years and tried 3 different steriods from my dematoglist along with every product on this message center—all to no avail!!

Finally a product that works–but does not cure–but stops the cracking and bleeding!!!

    It is called Ultra-Mide 25.

I am both a swimmer and harpist and found time in the water matched splitting fingers, especially in the winter.

My feeling is that lanolin is the best thing for skin. If you don’t like the smell of bag balm, you can melt together more-or-less equal amounts of vaseline and lanolin and have the equivalent, which will jell again as it cools. You might also mix in some olive oil or cocoa butter.

Have you tried lanolin or bag balm? Or AmLactin?

You didn’t mention bag balm and lanolin, so I’m going to re-suggest them. You might even melt them together so you have a concentrated amount of lanolin. I have done that with vaseline and lanolin. It re-gels as it cools.

For splitting thumb or other finger tips, I’ve had good results with the non-prescription salve in a tube, called Polysporin. A little on the fingertip, covered by a small band-aid, overnight, means that the split has usually knitted together

Prednisone can screw up your skin.

Try supplements for L-Lysine, biotin, Vitamin B, fish oil and flax seed oil (for omega 3 and 6), Lecithin, and Vitamin E (both topically and as a supplement – Vitamin E, that is not the others!)

I am hypothyroid and have had problems with skin and hair.
