Yes I agree. I was just interested in see how it was transcribed. I believe that there are some pieces that should not be transcribed for harp, and there are some that can work. I think the Toccata could work if you have the right sound and if you play it in a hall or church that has acoustics of a bath tube.
I’m playing the show next week. I can tell you it’s the most fun you will ever have. It’s like a double concerto for harp and piano. I find Act 1 the toughest part, act 2 is much more laid back. Watch out for Metaphor. If you can’t get it, I had it worked out that I play the left hand part and the piano play the melody. It works out great. And also The plum is too Ripe is another tricky one. But other wise enjoy it!
Hello! I’m a harp major at Peabody, and we have a great double degree program! We even have a double degree student in our studio and she is enjoying it very much! Look into Peabody. Plus we are connected with one of the great university of the USA Johns Hopkins!
I have never heard of each variation was in a stye of different composers. They are all in the style of Haydn.
I loved the program! And what I loved about it, was that it opened so many eyes! From people who know nothing about harp, to people who do know. I find it so refreshing! What a great idea. Maybe Isreal will be next?
