Thanks to those of you who let us know that relatives can overturn your wishes like that.

If I had my druthers, I’d have two or three harps–a small pedal harp, a lever harp and a metal-strung Celtic.

Be glad they don’t expect you to teach Jew’s harp.

A wedding isn’t about you and your harp. It’s about the people getting married. Your tattoos and/or piercings may well interfere with / distract from the aesthetic of that wedding.

It’s not always songs you’re crazy about or might like to play on the harp that stick in your mind. For me one time it was Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs’ “Hey there, Little Red Riding Hood / You sure are looking good…” But as for playing on the harp, I’d prefer the Barcarolle from Tales of Hoffman.

Trouble with ammonia is that if a cat has been urinating somewhere, the ammonia is practically an invitation to do it some more, because ammonia smells like cat pee to a cat.

I love the 18th Century, which looks so like my Erard. But a harp of that size, without pedals, must be difficult for anyone as short as I am to play.

Some people think advanced age is actually an excuse for becoming a “nasty old lady” and may even be proud of it. I can’t think why. I intend to become a cheerful old lady. Oops. I’m already an old lady!

Umm..I have a ram’s-head Erard like that one, fluted col., Great Marlborough Street, and the number 1805 or 1807. I always assumed that was the DATE. Am I wrong?

I played guitar first too. Then harp and then banjo. It’s a natural progression. And I didn’t play that well after five mos.!
