Painted Style 11

Who knows the story behind this harp?

I caught a glimpse of it at L&H when I was there today and I went over to check out the painting on it but that was about it. I wish I would’ve looked at it more and asked about it but I was too excited to go play some of the harps that I’ve been dying to so I figured I would look it up online later. I can’t really find anything about it though. I don’t see it on their website either, I’m guessing its some sort of special instrument but it was out on their showroom among everything else so I’m not sure. Anyone know? I love the paint on the woodcarving so much! I didn’t think columns would look good in anything other than their finish (matching the harp) or maybe with some gold on it but this was something different I found.

I saw this harp at L&H when I was there a month or so ago. I can’t say this for sure, but I believe it is a new version of the Style 11 that they are going to start offering: the Nouveau. It’s listed on their prices page: http://www.lyonhealy.com/prices.htm. The harp is stunning. It looks like they’ll be putting out more information in the coming days. I’ll try to add a picture I took of the top of the column.

Ahh okay! I thought I remembered seeing “Nouveau” or something, I remember glancing at the tag and it probably said that on there. I didn’t think to look at their pricing page, I just didn’t see it in their pedal harp selection on the site.

Definitely stunning. Such a gorgeous harp. Do you know if the soundboard is painted too? I’m kicking myself that I didn’t pay more attention to this one. I hardly ever get to go down there and now that I’ve left, I’m sitting at home wishing I would’ve asked more about it!!!!!!!!!

Have been excited about what the Nouveau looks like since I saw it on the Lyon and Healy price page. I see a style 150 limited edition on the price page as well..anyone knows what that’s gonna look like?

This is a beautiful harp; i forgot to look at the price tag; $34,000? We can dream can’t we!

Hi everyone,

I just talked to Nancy at L&H because I just saw it yesterday and was still curious about it! Anyway, she told me that the soundboard is a decal but the artist did a lot of hand embellishing on it! She said the flowers he added look almost iridescent blueish/white!

She had told me that Style 11s have always been made in gold and then they started making the natural ones which became popular and so now they’ve started making the Nouveau w/ the painting on them. The price listed on the site is $39,000 and she said they’re already quite popular! Not sure if the price will change when they actually release it, or really when they will release it. It sounded like maybe they already sold a copule, or perhaps just a lot of people seem interested?

I wish I had paid more attention to the detail while I was there :/ Now I guess thats just another excuse for me to go back!

Li Shan, I saw several of the new Style 150’s when I was there. I did find out a little information about them, but it’s probably best not to share it here because I don’t want to get it wrong (and I’m not sure if L&H is ready for it to go out).

I’ll include one more picture I took of the Style 11 that we’re discussing above. It really was one of the most beautiful harps I’ve ever seen.

They are being listed on the L&H site now. There is a picture available of the 150, but not one of the Style 11 Nouveau yet.

Where do you see the 150 on the L&H site? I don’t see a picture and I don’t see it on their “Pedal Harps” page. I’d like to see a pic of it

Odd, it’s listed right above the style 100. I just checked and it’s there.

Maybe you need to refresh your browser. Hit f5 on the L&H site. If that doesn’t work maybe your browser isn’t reading it right? Some phones wont pick up everything either, if your browsing from a phone. Or maybe I’m living in some parallel universe where it exists…
