How hard is it to find these harps?

Celtic Symphony (is that what it’s called) by a British Composer (can’t recall the name) calls for 8 harps at least, so it’s rarely done.

You want strong academics, too…
one thing I remember from looking at colleges is that some strong academic schools require so many liberal arts courses that you don’t get all the music classes you really need in the 4 years.

Shennandoah in VA has a good harp program, and is also somehow affiliated with the Methodist church.

I didn’t start the harp until high school, and wasn’t a performance major in college, so the competitions will never be something for me.

I don’t know what area they are located in, but Janet Harbison (founder-Belfast Harp Orchestra) and Graine Hambly are good teachers in Ireland.
