What a treat! Such happy faces. Your arrangement and the way you played it was warm and wonderful. I’m not even close to playing something so beautiful but I hope to someday. For those who can, is there a way to get a copy of this really lovely arrangement?
What thoughts are there on Camac Korrigan or Telenn? They are both lighter than Ana but still have concert spacing and tension and are gut strung…
On the Greek website under availability the word “no” was written in Greek. It must be in some other catalogue or collection…good luck.
I had the very same problem with my Dusty. I’m lucky enough to live close to their workshop. I brought my harp in and they went over the tuning pins etc. for burrs. I never had that problem again. I’m sure your local shop will take a look for you. Happy harping!
The purchase of a harp is very personal. I would urge you to think very carefully about making this decision for someone else. If you were to look through some of the previous posts through out these forums you would see what others go through and the time and thought they pour into this purchase. It is easy enough to make recommendations of certain harps etc. but in the end it really is about that connection to an instrument which each individual must make. If you do purchase, check the return policy!!! Best to you both..
Wow! What a lovely idea! I don’t know what your time constraints are but I have a couple of thoughts. Do some “window shopping” with her to get an idea of what she likes. You will both learn a great deal about the sounds of different harps along with all the info. a sales person can impart. Think about the type of music she most enjoys, this will also inform the type of harp she might want to play. I really believe in actually playing the harp before buying it. Find a well thought of teacher in the area and buy her a few lessons. This
I recently started playing the harp and was lucky enough to buy two gently used harps which I am really happy with. I have a Dusty FH26 and Prelude 38. Although I’m really all set with harps my eyes keep looking for that next addition to the family. I almost think it’s normal. Just wanted to let you know that I’ve had really good luck with used harps so far. Maybe as you try harps along the way you will find a gently used version of the one you like and make a deal.

I’m new to the harp too! I’ve got a few years on you, I’m 53. I’ve had about 3months of lessons to this point. I have learned so much from just looking through the older posts on harp column. There is so much wisdom in these “pages” including subjects you may never have thought to think of. Your note indicates that’s what you are looking for… My small piece of advice is to enjoy the process and most especially all the wonderful people you will meet along the way.
What a beautiful work of art!!! I have never heard one of his harps but hope to hear one sometime soon. I hope you have many wonderful years of music with your amazing harp…congratulations!!!
Have you had a chance to play any of the Camacs? There are a couple that are light enough but also have a good sound in my opinion…The Melusine de Concert has nylon strings and a bright sound and the Aziliz has gut type strings and lever harp
