    Yes, although for me his sound, which is very distinctive (Kim Robertson plays his harps, so you can get a good idea of the sound) doesn’t work so well for what I do, there’s no question that his 40 string is the most strings in the smallest package out there. I don’t know that I would say that they’re particularly loud harps, though, despite the stringing, if that’s the primary consideration.

    Jerusha, do you have personal experience of the Sligo harps? What are they like.

    What thoughts are there on Camac Korrigan or Telenn? They are both lighter than Ana but still have concert spacing and tension and are gut strung…

    I have played my Swan (nylon stgs) in a setting of 300plus people (funeral, so all was quiet), and the sound carried beautifully.

    I rented a Camac Korrigan for a month or two and could not wait to take it back. I found the sound very ‘flat’ and a bit ‘plunky’. Just my opinion of course but you were asking for feedback!

    Amy, now that the Dilling lever harp is going to be in production again, according to its harpmaker, Arsalaan Fay, you might wish to contact him and be put on his waiting list. This is because Mildred Dilling, renowned “First Lady of the Harp” in the 1940’s and later, needed a more portable harp for accompanying a singer on a tour they would take, and found an excellent harpmaker/designer to make one for her with single action in the harmonic curve instead of all the machinery needed for a double action

    If you have a captive audience (IE, not a wallpaper gig) a Fisher actually workswell. . .
