Jerusha, I also have a rescued Balinese (Bali, though I would have named him something more imaginative). He hates the harp! Leaves the room every time I sit down at it. Hopefully, yours is more supportive.

I use the felt stick-on pads. We were also told not to put rugs down for at least a year. My kitchen has the same hardwood as my living room, and I worried about water on it, so put down a small rug by the sink and refrig. Yep, under the rugs the floor is paler than the rest of the room now.

Great thread! I’m in physical therapy now, recovering from a knee and hip injury (fell rescuing a cat!) and do not want further joint problems. I also agree with Sylvia: when my sister complained about her joints, my 92 year old mother told her she needed to get up and move around more, that she was getting lazy.

    1. I haven’t heard the Lorien 30, but I own a Raphael. It has a beautiful, full sound. The upper octaves are especially nice and clear. I got mine used and it had a new sounding board in 2003 (before I got it). I have been very happy with it.

I have The Three Ravens and Other Ballads. They are easy and fun, very few lever changes, keys of C and G.

Holly, I agree! I’ve been a nurse 33 years, most of that in a busy ER. If I didn’t have the harp and a few other creative outlets, I think I’d be right there with those who have

Congratulations, Louise! I prefer my feet on the ground, but my brother flies and has had many hours of enjoyment in the air. That’s quite an accomplishment.

Athens is getting better, as far as finding stations that have gas. Prices are still around $4 a gallon.

His name is Rhys Foster Lockamy, and he weighed 8lb 14oz, 22 3/4 ” long. Don’t think he’ll wear those cute newborn clothes long!

Long wait, but our grandson is finally here! We were able to go to New York in time for his birth. Of course, he is adorable! I missed my harp so much for the 3 weeks we were there, I stopped on the way home and bought a traveling harp. So not one, but two new additions to our family.
