ParticipantDoes anybody know about this harp? I saw it on the Harps of Lorien website today. It looks mighty nice. I’m interested to know what the sound quality and volume are like.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Jeffrey,
I too was looking at this harp when I was shopping for a small harp a while back. I’d suggest that you contact Christina Tourin from the International Harp Therapy program in San Diego. She is the expert on therapy harps and will give you great advice. If I remember correctly, Christina had some concerns about the Lorien 30, having to do with the overall size and weight, which is important for therapy harps.
However, if you are just looking for a small harp (not therapy harp), this may not be an

Participant- I haven’t heard the Lorien 30, but I own a Raphael. It has a beautiful, full sound. The upper octaves are especially nice and clear. I got mine used and it had a new sounding board in 2003 (before I got it). I have been very happy with it.

ParticipantHi Jeffrey,

It’s an absolutely

ParticipantOops, sorry Jeffrey. I misread your latest message and wrote my response assuming you ARE interested in harp therapy. My goof….

Since you are not, the Lorien may just be the perfect harp for you and I cetainly see your point regarding the 30 strings. The more strings the better and 30 strings will give you a nice range for playing in addition to having a small, portable harp.

MemberActually my issue is that assumptions were being made about his needs that were totally inappropriate and that fact that he was told that this harp was unsuitable for him when we didn’t know his wants and needs.

ParticipantI agree with Jennifer’s assessment that there is nothing in Jeffrey’s original post that implies that he was interested in the Lorien for therapy.

Well, and so was Cynthy! BTW, if you google “small harps” Christina’s website, amongst many others,

ParticipantI am simply defending Jennifer’s attempt to try to help Jeffrey get answers to the specific questions that he asked, especially in view of Cynthy’s last post.
