And use html instead of bbcode ( the < symbols instead of brackets).

Also, you don’t need to be near a rental source. Most harp stores have rent to own programs and they will ship a harp to you. But get a teacher first.

Do you have a teacher for her? Even if they don’t rent commercially, many teachers keep harps to rent for their own students. If you don’t have a teacher, get one first. That is THE most important thing for a child that age.

Becky Brock has a nice arrangement of the Pastorale from Handel’s Messiah in her book of solo Christmas music, and Dewey Owens has a couple of pieces that would be appropriate for this, like the Pastorale from the Corelli Christmas Concerto, in his Wedding Music for the Advanced Lever Harpist. Since it’s advent, O Come, O Come Emmanuel would be appropriate. Largo from Winter by Vivaldi (several people, including me, have arranged that one).

It would be great if someone came up with a multi-harp tuning key, sort of like a Swiss Army knife with multi functions, or one of those screwdrivers that contain different size/style heads inside.

    >I don’t think most scammers are looking at Harp Column.

Sure they are. This is actually just the kind of site they look for. Good for spamming because they’re not quick to remove unreported spam, high-ticket merchandise for sale–yes, this site is very appealing to these kinds of businesses (and they are businesses, not just some random individual someplace–do a lookup on the phone no. in your post, for example).

The AT-2 is pretty old, so it may well just be broken, but have you checked to see if it has a manual setting? Many tuners have the option to set it to a specific pitch. I haven’t seen one like yours in so long I can’t remember if it does or not, but check to be sure that’s not it.

If you’re living in South Korea I would guess you have a smart phone. If it’s an iPhone or an Android phone you can get a tuner app for that so you don’t have to carry around a separate device. Cleartune is available on both platforms and probably the most popular.

That’s by state, but I frankly think you’d have a problem with a product that lasted the length of the expressed warranty and then developed an issue.

It’s the same way your car insurance isn’t going to cover it when your transmission fails five miles after the warranty on the drive train expires.

As Carl said, no normal insurance policy covers manufacturing defects, I’m afraid. That’s what warranties are for. Insurance is for accidents, not this.

    1. If you don’t have sharping levers you will have to retune the harp every time you want to change keys.

    2. There are many levers suitable for nylon strings, and mostly those same levers can be used on steel wound strings, like the bass wires on pedal harps and many lever harps.

    3. There are lots of places, depending on which levers you want.

Well, that’s an area where there just aren’t a lot of celtic players. I guess Marg Chauvin:

although she’s up in Palm Beach county, or you could call Charlene and ask her for a recommendation. I don’t live down that way anymore, so there may be new people I don’t know.

Lisa Kikol is in your general area, too, but I don’t know if she teaches. You might search on her name here and send her an email.

Sorry to hear about your knee surgery. Hope the recovery goes quickly.

And you’ll find a huge range of different harps in S FL, if you contact one of the teachers down there with a large studio. Charlene Conner would be in your area, and she has a whole gaggle of harps she rents out to students, in addition to all the various harps her students have.

If not, there’s a big event in Asheville the first weekend in October (usually many more vendors and a lot of harp makers), if you can find the time to drive that far:
