I love that movie! I haven’t watched it in awhile, so I’ll probably dig it out and take another look, but I remember the harp, too.

Another one with a harp is “Auntie Mame” with Rosiland Russel, but I believe that it’s only part of a backdrop to make the apartment look bigger. ( I could be wrong, I’ll have to watch it again, too, and pay more attention!)

Thanks, Cynthia! What finish are your harps in? I usually go for something with a vivid grain, but this one really spoke to me, and I do love it in ebony, too!

    Hi, Rod:

Just got home so I could check the CD and the website…it looks like the same harp to me! The CD is entitled “Arabesque: Romantic Harp Music of the 19th Century”. It’s my favorite cover…solid black background with Susan Drake playing the harp, and she’s wearing this figured, flowing gold gown that perfectly complements the harp and spills onto the floor around her.

Is that the Horngacher she’s playing on the cover of her CD with picture of her in a flowing gold gown? If it is, it’s beautiful!

Congratulations, Rod, Brian, Nelleke, and Kelly! Too bad we can’t have a get-together and show off our new harps in person.

Hi, Charles…yes, it’s a good thing they’re not closer to me or they’d never get me out of the store!

Hi, Briggs: Yes, same spot, but the earlier picture was a natural Prelude that I traded towards this 85P. Hope you’re having a Merry Christmas!

Not for taking on gigs, but I found the neatest little cabinet for those who don’t have tons of music, but still need storage. Regular size music books or sheet music fit great, as well as strings, tuning keys, tuners, etc.

Kelly, the Virginia Harp Center has a Harpsicle on their website…you might give them a call and see if it’s still available.

One piece that always stuck out in my mind was Chanson dans la Nuit.

If you’re playing pedal harp, make sure you also practice in the shoes you’ll be wearing, especially if you’re one of those who practice barefoot or in socks!
