Tear-Out Tunes

In 2023 we launched our “Tear-out Tunes” series, which features a new work from one of the best composer-arrangers in the business in every issue of Harp Column magazine. (We put these tunes right in the center of the magazine so you can tear them out and put them directly on your music stand!) In the series, each composer tells us a little bit about their piece, and also gives helpful tips for learning it. We’re so excited about our Tear-out Tunes, that we decided to use them as the basis for our annual 30 Day Practice Challenge. (Join the challenge here!)

If you missed these freebies, don’t fret. You can still purchase them below, or you can subscribe to Harp Column to download them in our back issue collection.

*all titles are playable on lever or pedal harp.

A Christmas Cwtch

by Amanda Whiting

SKILL: swing rhythm, jazz harmony

“I have always loved Christmas music, both traditional carols as well as the more “swinging” numbers we hear throughout the holiday season. I wanted to start the piece in a classical style. In the B section you will find some hints of “Silent Night” and “Good King Wenceslas,” and an optional improvised area. The piece is wide open for your interpretation.” –Amanda Whiting
