Rose Version 2–Blooms

Trista Hill’s Rose Version 2—Blooms is for solo lever or pedal harp. “Rose was born when, decades ago, I was asked to provide harp music for a wedding I knew would be personally and emotionally challenging to play,” says Hill. “This piece was constructed so it could be completely improvised—it follows the chord progression of Canon in D, but then unfolds into a three-chord motif that can be repeated as long as needed to shorten or lengthen the song.” Version 2, Blooms expounds on the theme of Version 1 and ends in a spinning motif that differs from the rest of the piece.
