Note from the author
By becoming fluent with these exercises, students will be better prepared when encountering similar patterns in music, gain familiarity with keys and key signatures, learn about chords to prepare for playing with lead sheets, and gain helpful context for learning about music theory.
Exercises in this volume:
Scales – one octave, hands separately.
Triads – solid/rolled and broken. One octave, hands separately.
Arpeggios – 2.5 octaves.
Range: exercises in this volume should fit on a 26-string harp, however exercises may also be modified to be played in different ranges.
Key included in this volume: C, G, and F major; A, E, and D minor.
Lever harpists: to play all of the keys in this book, you will need levers on the B, C, D, F, and G strings at minimum, with the B strings tuned to B flat. If you do not have all of these levers, some scales may not be playable on your harp; however, many of the triads and arpeggios are playable without any levers.
