Tamsin Dearnley’s original composition Ondulations à la Surface de l’eau is for solo lever or pedal harp. This piece (translated to Ripples on the Surface of the Water) “is aimed at harpists who would like to play something that sounds romantic, rippling and reminiscent of Debussy-esque impressionism, but who would like for that something not to be immensely difficult,” says Dearnley. It is a flexible piece in that it may be played at any speed the player feels comfortable at–it works just as well at a rapid, rippling tempo as at a slow, romantic one, making it accessible at many playing levels. It is perfect for weddings, religious settings, garden parties, or simply for playing for fun at home!
