Note from the composer

I used to play a “his and her” version of the romantic moment—so I played it twice: once shy and hesitating from the woman’s side and more daring and affirmative from the man’s side. This provides an opportunity to play the same tune with different emotions and expressions (as heard in the video version). When I met my husband it was love at first sight, and each of us tells the story with slightly different emotional coloring!
