Note from the arrangers
Although in 3/4 time, the beat is not emphasized in the same way as a waltz. Where a waltz rhythm is played: ONE-two-three, the långdans gives more emphasis to the third beat: ONE-two-THREE, ONE-two-THREE.

Laurie Riley and Beth Kollé’s arrangement of the traditional song “Swedish Meditation” is for solo lever or pedal harp. A “långdans”, or long-dance, like this one from Sollerö, Sweden, is a folk dance performed in a line, with men and women holding hands and proceeding around the floor to the left. This piece can also be purchased as part of Riley and Kollé’s collection Wedding Music for the Lever Harp. Scroll down for notes from the arrangers.
