Lauren Scott’s original piece The First Snowdrops is for three lever or pedal harps. This evocative piece, dedicated to harpist Anita Aslin, was conceived during “regular woodland walks as the snowdrops were just starting to push through the ground,” says Scott. It was originally written for solo harp and featured in Scott’s “Adventures for Lever Harp Book 3.”

Note from the composer

This arrangement for three part harp ensemble was premiered at the Harp on Wight Festival 2021. There are no lever changes, but pre-set lever changes from the start. The piece consists of a simple melody that rises up in octave leaps and gently pushes through the harmony.
