Lauren Scott’s On a Blue Hill is a duet for lever or pedal harp. Inspired by Christina Rossetti’s poem “Clouds,” this contemporary work moves through four sections—”Cumulus,” “Stratocumulus,” “Altocumulus,” and “Cirrostratus”—featuring serene textures and subtle, “blue”-tinged jazz harmonies. Written in 2021 during Scott’s residency with Harps North West, it offers colorful extended techniques. This piece is also available for harp quartet.
