Note from the arranger
First melody: The gorgeous older melody used by Robert Burns for his New Year’s Day poem is set to an old Scottish folk tune. The arrangement has two verses including the slightly varied chorus after each verse. It starts out with simple accompaniment and progresses to fuller chords and octaves in the melody.
