The Wild Geese Are Returning by Hannah Haynes is an original solo for lever or pedal harp. “This music joyfully celebrates othe welcome return of the wild geese to Scotland, and to the fields beside our village, as they return from their months overseas during the winter,” says Haynes. “In spring, the geese swirl about in the huge skies and form ever-changing patterns. Most of the villagers will pause whatever they are doing to look upwards for a moment, and welcome them back home, and with them the promise of the summer months ahead.” This piece doubles as an etude, and is perfect for practicing arpeggios in three-note root positions, first inversions, second inversions, and other shapes too.
