The Venus Fly Trap

Hannah Haynes’ original composition “The Venus Fly Trap” is for solo lever or pedal harp. It’s the 10th etude in A Suite of Botanical Etudes, a collection of original, botanically-themed etudes. This etude studies four-note runs and the quick replacing of first and second fingers. Haynes says “the tune builds suspense until the last few bars, which are fast and furious as the plant catches its prey.”
