Elizabeth Volpe Bligh has transcribed John Dowland’s Lachrimae for solo pedal harp. This transcription of the beautiful, melancholy piece originally for lute includes pedal changes, suggested fingerings and mufflings to avoid unwanted noises. Bligh says the piece “should be played with a singing quality to the melodic line, being careful to delineate the separate voices.”
