I don’t think this is for lever harps tuned in Eb. As much as I would like to play it, I don’t want to retune my harp just to play this piece. Maybe someday I’ll have a collection of pieces that will make it worth the trouble.
Please post a warning that this piece is for lever harps tuned in C. I would not have purchased it if I had known. I guess I should have checked the key signature first…

Really, this piece isn’t written for lever harp at all, but with some modifications, it can be done, and it’s very pretty. I play it in A major instead of A-flat, and re-arrange just two of the broken chord patterns to avoid awkward lever flips. This A major tuning would work for harps in either Eb or C; the original key of Ab major works on neither, though of course starting from Eb you could tune all your Db’s down without too much trouble. Four stars rather than five because it is, well, a bit sugary-sweet; but it could be just the right thing for one of those autumn days when everything seems dark and gloomy.

This piece is beautiful, it seems to be transported in front of a window while outside leaves are falling, in a very sweet time. I like so much Garella’s style and I think this piece is his sign. This music brings you in another place and time.
Anyway it is possible to play it on Celtic harp just tuning D in Db (it’s very common in reality) and making some little changes.

I believe this is one of Garella’s most beautiful compositions: every time I play it, I feel a sense of peace. Those who listen to me playing it experience the same sensation. I play it on the pedal harp, but I have also tried it on the lever harp, and it sounds wonderful with just a small variation: you need to replace the second E natural with an A flat.
