Scored for lever or pedal harp and horn, viola, or cello, Barbara Ann Fackler’s Harriet’s Song is based on the African American spiritual “Go Down Moses.” Explains Fackler, “‘Go Down Moses’ was one of the code songs used by Harriet Tubman as she led fugitive slaves escaping on the Underground railroad.” Separate versions for lever and pedal harp are included.
