Pearl and Angel’s Wings

Pearl and Angel’s Wings is a set of two original solos for lever or pedal harp by Astrid Walschot-Stapp. Pearl was written in honor of Walschot-Stapp’s nephew at the occasion of his First Communion. Angel’s Wings was written in honor of Mercy Medical Angels, a transportation crew who air lifted Walschot-Stapp’s daughter to receive emergency surgery. Additional notes

Pearl is a three-page composition. The lever version is in C, the pedal version in C flat. There are no accidentals, and the introduction of glissandos is beautiful.

Walschot-Stapp’s daughter drew the angel picture on the piece’s cover.
