Song of the Earth

$10.00

Alison Attar has edited James Meyer’s Song of the Earth for pedal harp and violin. This piece is similar in form to a rhapsodie in that it is a series of loosely connected episodes derived from a very old story-telling form. “The musical style is Japanese in harmonic content and very strongly influenced by the Zen devotion to a sad and lonely character embodied in a natural figure, often a crane,” says Meyer.
