Tamsin Dearnley’s arrangement of the traditional Welsh tune “Hiraeth am Feirion” is for solo lever or pedal harp. Although little-known, this Welsh melody is hauntingly beautiful. Two options are available: the Easy Harp Solo is for advanced beginners and includes the official ABRSM Grade 1 solo along with a simple one-page version of the tune. The Early Intermediate Harp Solo is for intermediate-level players and includes two extended interpretations of the tune.

Note from the arranger

“Hiraeth” is a Welsh word that roughly translates to “longing” or “nostalgia,” specifically for one’s homeland or birthplace. The title translates approximately to “Longing for Merionethshire,” one of the ancient counties of North Wales.

The easy version of this tune is for harps with at least 26 strings. The intermediate version of this tune is for harps with at least 34 strings.
