Tamsin Dearnley’s arrangement of the traditional Welsh tune “Hiraeth am Feirion” is for solo lever or pedal harp. Although little-known, this Welsh melody is hauntingly beautiful. Dearnley explaints, “The ‘hiraeth’ of the title is a Welsh word which can be roughly translated as ‘longing’ or ‘nostalgia’, specifically for one’s homeland or birthplace. The title translates approximately therefore as ‘Longing for Merionethshire’ (one of the ancient counties of North Wales).”
