I’m kinda late to this thread but I’m also a HUGE fan of Bernard Andres. His Autumn Dances are very challenging, beautiful and interesting pieces and amazingly there are no lever changes in any of the six dances.
stan-guyParticipantAbout a year ago I bought a 90 year old L&H gold harp for less than the price of ANY new L&H pedal grand harp. The gold is in beautiful shape, everything is original and it shows no sign of weakness anywhere. The sound is fabulous. It is a joy to play.

stan-guyParticipantMy L&H style 19 was built in 1922 and still going strong.

I’ve been working on Scheherezade for about six months and I would consider it just now “listenable”. I would not play it as a performance yet. I do love it.

stan-guyParticipantSheila —In harp lingo that is called “placing” and you’ll be miles ahead if you learn it from the first but start with TWO strings, going down fingers 1,2,1,2,1,2 etc…don’t play 2 until 1 is on the next string.
