ParticipantThank you very much for your input. I think I’ll look for a Cush-Tush. Do you find that it helps when you’re riding in a car? Sometimes, it’s pretty hard to walk after I’ve been riding in the car for awhile.

ParticipantThank you very much for your comments. I’ll give the suggestions a try. It’s so nice to have on-line assistance.

ParticipantSo, do I just play the 2 harmonics and forget about the b? Why does a composer write music like this?
Jennifer Yoneji
ParticipantYes, Kay. As far as I know. I’ve played for about 11 years, now, and the pain didn’t start until about 6 months ago.

ParticipantHi Saul, I do now, but I’m wondering if it’s because of sitting at the harp. Maybe it’s just arthritis. I’m also a runner, but haven’t had problems until about 6 months ago.

ParticipantThank you, Brian. I’ve ordered it.

ParticipantThank you so much for your reply. I think I’m a little beyond my skill level, here. When there are fewer pieces, I can usually figure things out pretty well, but with 10 pieces and all of them opera with singers and lines I don’t really know, it’s going to be challenging. The conductor will be coming tomorrow morning to work with me. We’ll see how it goes. I think I may have to abridge some of the phrases – especially a section in Madama Butterfly.

ParticipantThank you, Michael. I received some assistance from Rosalind Beck and I’m in the process of learning her markings. I, too, have to memorize. It’s coming rather slowly, I’m afraid. When I try to play to tempo, it all falls apart.

ParticipantThank you, Rosalind. I thought it all sounded so familiar that it had to be pretty audible. It’s quite a workout, isn’t it?

ParticipantThank you, Mel. It is the full ballet.

ParticipantThank you for your reply. I actually tried to play it both hands together. I like it much better with alternating hands. I will listen once again to the recording of the cadenza with the music in front of me and see if it makes any difference. I was surprised at how long the recording seemed to go on compared to the written part.
