    Here’s another one by Xavier

It is absolutely beautifully shot, from lots of different angles so you get a wonderful perspective of this genius playing. His hands flutter like dancing butterflies over those strings. I just adore his playing, I’m in heaven.

    Hi everyone,

I was cruizing on youtube and stumbled across the most breath taking performance on harp. It is by a harpist named Xavier de Maistre and he is extraordinary! Such a talented man, Please watch in awe as I did, I’m sure you’ll all enjoy it 🙂 Truelly wonderful. The piece is a harp solo of Moldau (valtava)

Yes Leslie I guess it will look very gothicy in a way. Anyways, the harp will suit me as I am a bit out there myself! We will both compliment each other nicely I think 🙂 I’m sure your harp won’t need ‘therapy’ in the future 😉 hehe. Just name your harp any name that jumps out at you whether a male or female name. I don’t think it should matter. Oh have to run, my little son is awake 🙂

Hahahaha! You’re hillarious Leslie 🙂 I love it! Hang in there sweetie, not long now at all. My harp maker called me yesterday and she is almost ready to be painted. You can choose any colour you like. Mine will be a silvery/purple colour. I have no idea what the finished harp will look like but I can’t wait to find out. Will you name your harp when it arrives? Do most people name their harps? I think I will, I’ve already been calling her a she so I guess I will 🙂

By the way Leslie, Did your Laurel Leaf arrive yet? or are you still waiting? I remember that post a little while back. You know exactly how I feel then about “expecting”. So give me the update on your baby 🙂

You know Lisa, If you found a couple of other people wanting Thom harps in your area he can combine the shipping and it would be cheaper as you would split the costs. Just a possibility.
Hey Leslie, “expecting” I love that expression hehe 🙂 Well I guess I am indeed. It’s funny you mention you like the Olwen model and the Stirling because they are my favorite designs too! and to me they seemed dragon-like as well!
I have ordered a Stirling model. I didn’t discuss a time of completion, I gathered it will be finished when it’s finished and I’ve already waited so long for her it really doesn’t matter.

My favorite video at the moment is Junshi Murakami playing Michael Nyman’s “Big My Secret” on a lever harp. It’s my most favorite piece of music. I just adore it. On piano and harp, It’s beautiful on both 🙂

Well it’s not complete yet, It’s well on it’s way though. I’m just so excited about the fact of my dream harp coming to life. The bottom string is a low G so that should give me plenty of space for playing a variety of things. Thanks for your replies Deb, It’s so nice to share enthusiasm with people who understand just how exciting this is. Know one quite gets it like fellow harping enthusiasts I’ve found.

These neighbors must be CRAZY. Who wouldn’t love to hear a harp anywhere anytime. I would be asking for the window to be left opened too 🙂 Some people are such wet blankets. Such a shame that is.

I’m glad to hear that the rumor is not true then, I’m looking forward to taking a look at the delacours as a possibility for my new harp. It’s good to know. As Kathy stated it was just a rumor she heard and there was no malicious intent in her writing. We’ll let it rest there shall we.

    oh wow,
Thanks for the info Kathy, If that happens to be the case and they have stopped production then maybe it just wasn’t meant to be that I get them. Who knows, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. All very interesting all the same.

    Thankyou Janice,
Can I ask what string tension you have on your Koa fisher? Is it folk or concert. The string tension on the harp I will be ordering will be folk tension and apparently the delacours are suppose to be great for lighter tension strings. Just curious as to what your fisher is 🙂 Thanks Janice.
