hey Michael, forgot to mention Mr Pratt said there are bolts that go up from the inside of the body up through the kneeblock/neck piece.

    Deb,
This was before your time on this forum, but I built a harp from scratch (a wire-strung using wider spacing between the strings than a wire-strung typically has), and described my efforts in probably too tedious detail.

I think it would be very satisfying to build your own harp.

At least I was able to get a little creative with the strings and play around with that more than I have been able to do with my rentals.

You might want to consider cam levers which I think would be more forgiving the neck than Truitts.

thanks Tacye, I think the cam levers push the string to one side, like the Robinson blades we have here in the states, except I think Robinsons are made out of brass.

Bah, spent an hour trying to clamp the crack between the neck and the kneeblock closed but no luck.

Mr Pratt mentioned that he didn’t recall them ever putting in the wooden dowels in this harp that run sideways from the kneeblock into the neck.

    Deb,

Is there any way you can get someone knowledgeable to look at it directly and assess what it needs (hopefully, for a not exorbitant price).

    hi Michael,

I strung with lower tension strings for the bass too, at Mr Pratt’s suggestion.
