Boy, is this therapeutic to read!

I lived one today, trying to get my harp back into my building, and this stream of 6 or 7 guys, young stockbroker types, couldn’t get to their pizza fast enough and were stepping over my harp to get in, they couldn’t wait! Unbelievable. Then the guy helping me got turned around and stepped over it himself.

I have many recurring nightmares. One involved being called in by the Met to play a rehearsal at Carnegie Hall/Radio City Music Hall, the two being conjoined, and of course I have no music, perhaps no harp. The Philadelphia version is being called by Edna Phillips or Marilyn Costello to sub for them at the Philadelphia Orchestra in some old auditorium, and I get there, and maybe I have music, maybe not, it’s usually Wagner, so I am protesting all the time, then they give me a square harp to play, or some other weird construction. I know that if I ever see the full Salvi collection and find all those harps in there, something bad must be going to happen, because I am anticipating it years in advance. Maybe I’ll trip and knock one over and it will cause them all to fall over like dominoes, the whole roomful!

I had this really weird one where I agreed to play in an orchestra and was told that the piece is really simple, and was given the music only on the day of rehearsal.

No, that’s real life. Maybe you were dropping in on someone else’s reality.

Or it’s a premonition. Better start learning it. And the Magic Fire Music, to boot, just in case.

I don’t even have a harp yet but I had a weird dream about harp last year Xmas.

I dreamed that I somehow got the money to go to a music store and I bought a big dark brown lever harp, perhaps a Salvi. Then I brought it home and tried to play it but I didn’t know how to pluck the strings properly so it didn’t sound right. I told my mother that I must have lessons and that I wanted to study with X because she was reputed to be a good teacher but her lessons are very expensive. My mother said that there was no money unless I sold a kidney or something. Then, (this is a dream remember) all the strings on the harp fell off. I couldn’t figure out how to get them back on. I was in despair.

Finally, I dreamed that I was sick(this part is real, I was suffering from a cold), crying and wandering in the rain at night trying to think of a way to pay for lessons wondering if I should sell a kidney or something and then I woke up.

    How would you interpret this?
