Harpist Lara Somogyi is set to release an expanded edition of her debut solo album !, featuring orchestral reworkings and remixes. Released last September, ! features experimental techniques on the harp, including putting blu-tack on the strings, playing the strings with a bow, using a milk frother, and experimenting with loops and FX pedals. Somogyi’s first single—“acceptances (orchestral expansion)”—is available now, with the full album to be released Oct. 20.

In addition, Somogyi’s cover of English singer-songwriter Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” is now #1 on U.S. Classical Streaming Charts. An Amazon Music Original, the cover is also the top-performing Universal Music Group Classical & Jazz new release in the U.S. and Canada by more than half a million weekly streams.
