Harpist Elizabeth “Lizzie” Steiner released her debut album, Reluctant Princess, on Sept. 25. The album features Steiner’s arrangements of 10 of her favorite songs by Sade, Beyoncé, SWV, Kali Uchis, Solange, and others, plus two of her original compositions, all recorded on solo acoustic harp without production or overdubs. “This album is the product of my classical training meeting my love of R&B, Soul, and Pop,” Steiner says.
According to a press release, Steiner is a solo and collaborative harpist with a diverse career across genres. Blending classical training with an imaginative approach to improvisation and arranging, she has performed and collaborated with artists and ensembles including Stevie Wonder, Raye, Brandy, Lalah Hathaway, Josh Groban, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Baltimore Symphony.
